“I just want back in your head
I’m not unfaithful but I’ll stray
When I get a little scared.”

Love this song - Back in Your Head -  from Tegan & Sara, who I saw at Sasquatch Festival in May and Treasure Island Music Fest just last month. The lyrics are often very “in a girls head”-y which sometimes offers too much estrogen for me, but sometimes they say just what I’m thinking.

Though Ali claims the words are cheezy, I don’t agree (nor do I care.) Sex on Fire from the new Kings of Leon is catchy and awesome, and even if it doesn’t make me cool to say it, I LOVE IT.

“For all the hours here that move too slow
There’s all this letting go, that won’t pass.”

Driving to work this morning, the song ‘If I am a Stranger’ (one of my favorites from Ryan Adams & the Cardinals, this live version found on last year’s Follow the Lights EP) came on and I found myself sitting in the parking lot listening to every word that I already knew by heart.

Funny how music falls in your lap when you need it most.

“If I am a stranger now to you
I will always be, I will always be.

The second of two songs I’m posting today, this one - ‘Better Things’ - makes me try and refrain from chair dancing. My friend Morgan introduced me to Passion Pit (another one of their songs posted here) and I dare you maintain a bad mood while listening to this. Can’t happen.

Literally the first song I listened to off the new TV on the Radio Album, “Lover’s Day” is pretty intense but also pretty awesome. And the lyrics don’t hurt either.

Live version of Ryan Adams & the Cardinals’ newest single ‘Fix It’ (oh holy happiness, the new album will be released 10/28). I LOVED it live at The Fillmore and today it seems especially poignant, both the song & the lyrics. Ryan Adams never fails to have the words that I’m looking for.

Old, OLD Stars song “Heart” off of their first album by the same name, which somehow I didn’t own until Tuesday. Which is kind of the biggest, saddest atrocity ever. Thank God all is right with the world now.
